Process assessments won’t tell you about your organization’s capacity for improvement, or where the key challenges to improvement lie in your organization. This service provides a multiple-view perspective on your organization’s functioning, where the major barriers to long-term success are, and recommendations for overcoming them.
This service enables senior managers to identify where the organizational risks to improvement lie, and where the leverage points are. Steering groups and implementation teams can then develop sound plans to structure the improvement effort for better success.
The service consists of a series of interviews with a cross-section of players in your organization. From those interviews, the data collected are analyzed with respect to your organization’s perception of its purpose, structure, leadership and reinforcement practices, relationships with outside groups, and the effectiveness of the coordinating mechanisms in place now. The output is a presentation of your current state with respect to the risks and advantages you have for implementing improvement, as well as recommendations to incorporate into the improvement planning cycle.
Benefits of the service in the early stages of improvement include
- Knowing where senior management must focus to set the stage for effective improvement.
- Knowing what aspects of your organization’s functioning you can leverage for success.
- Understanding from a structured perspective the challenges you face in implementing improvement in your organization.
- Being able to plan your improvement with the organizational dynamics in mind, rather than stumbling into them.
- Plan for the risks to improvement inherent in your organization, resulting in more effective plans.
Time: Typically 4-5 days of interviews plus 1/2 day for feedback discusssion.
