Model Based Consulting

Consulting Model

Improvement teams take on the role of internal consultants whenever they are chartered to implement an improvement. While this is not a normal role for technical people, good collaborative consulting skills are critical for implementing through people.

This course enables improvement teams to develop the basics of collaborative consulting. It follows Peter Block's model, which has proven effective over the past twenty years.

  • Enter into a consulting relationship in an authentic and honest way.
  • Use the five-step consulting model effectively as part of your arsenal of improvement tools.
  • Identify the key issues consultants face with their clients and how to handle them.
  • Evaluate and address the resistance your client will inevitably present during the consulting assignment.
  • Establish effective contracts with clients.
  • End the consulting relationship under favorable and adverse circumstances.
  • Identify your personal style of consulting.
